Oh, it’s by a GIRL!

I heard this song (”I Kissed a Girl”) on the radio a while ago and thought it was kind of weird. Because I thought it was one of those guys-who-sound-like-girls singing it (oh, come on, am I the only one sick of the boys’ choir? gimme a growly dude any day), which would have made it a “tee-hee, I strayed from being gay” song, which was… odd.

But through the miracle of VH1, I have learned that it’s Katy Perry, an actual girl!

 

She’s so glam. Man-fan though I am, I’d totally kiss her.

    Well, many of the tears were because my singing is THAT godawful.

    It led to an interesting, if predictable, discussion about why guys are so fond of the idea of chicks making out. (Yeah, your boyfriend’s going to be pissed… that he didn’t get to watch and insinuate himself in the middle and get it on with the other chick penalty-free because you can’t hold it against him because you were the one making out with her first, you slut.)

    Idiots.

    These particular idiots, at least, left with a healthy fear of girl/girl. Men have a limited number of uses (that is, that they exclusively can perform). If they pass That One over to women, they might find themselves totally obsolete. (I referred them to Bethany’s Sin by Robert McCammon, which tends to scare the crap out of guys and amuse women to no end.)

    I’d still like this song if the lyrics were about asbestos exposure or something. It’s catchy and I love her voice. Definitely downloading her when I have a few spare dollars.
