Every bit as exciting as the Academy Awards!

Bumpity bump bump.

I hear tell RWA will be posting the RITA and Golden Heart winners as they’re announced at the awards ceremony in San Fran on August 2. Since 8 p.m. on the west coast is past my bedtime way over here on the east coast, I won’t be glued to my monitor in anticipation (also, since the Magic 8 Ball has already divulged all the winners, it’s old news to me), but if’n y’all wanna have a shindig in honor of the occasion and follow along as the drama unfolds, you should be able to find it on the RWA site.

Edit: Heh. This was a little premature, seein’ as I thought this week was next week. (Brain. Fried. Remember?) If it gets buried (unlikely, given my present hermit-like state of mind), I’ll bump it up to the top a little closer to the Big Day because I KNOW everybody here would be devastated if they had to wait until the day after for the results.

    Thank ya verra much, but the Magic 8 Ball says nay. I need to find a betting pool because M8B has revealed to me all the winners (GH and RITA both), and the M8B cannot lie…

    I couldn’t find anyone willing to bet against the all-knowing Magic 8 Ball, or I would have made a killing (9 out of 10 right).

    I’m relieved it’s over, honestly. Now that I’ve lost my cache as a “Golden Heart finalist,” I can quit pretending to have a career path and write whatever the hell I want instead of worrying about the two dozen things that have been crippling me. I’ve written more this weekend than I have in the last 4-1/2 months put together.

    I can say with certainty I won’t be in D.C. I might have braved the crowds, the noise, and the concentrated estrogen because of the GH nom, but remove that motivation, and it’s pretty much a nightmare scenario for me. I can hide in my room right here, thanks very much.

    At last! An actual purpose for Twitter! Gotta admit, the usefulness of that thing has otherwise stumped me.

    BTW, I took notes on your LB&LI posts, Alison, especially on that tricky topic of “voice.” With all the good stuff like that online, I don’t feel like I’m shooting myself in the foot by not attending the con. Thanks for putting out.

    Oh, I’m so glad you found some of it helpful. I never claim to be an expert, heh, so just enjoy talking craft and working it out for myself. I really want to do more of that, but lately my life has been crammed with too much stuff to manage much of any blogging at all!

Get a piece of this action
